ALL Church Members and Friends are welcome!

Each year, the Deacons of First Presbyterian Church host an Oyster Roast for the Congregation.  It is a time of food, fun, fellowship, and friendship.  Please make plans to join us at the home of Cookie Goodwin (Oaks Plantation.)

Bring your own folding table and chairs or a picnic blanket and dress for the outdoors.  Don't forget to bring an Oyster Knife and gloves and a dessert to share.  Donations for the cost of oysters will be accepted.

Directions:

Take US 21 to Lady’s Island.  Cross over Chowan Creek and turn right onto Oaks Plantation Road.  Turn right onto Godley Road (a dirt road) and travel down to the end and come on out to the water!

Oaks Plantation:

Come and learn a little bit about our historic site.  Information about Oaks Plantation will be available for participants at the Oyster Roast.

Oysters:

Learn about Oysters, Oyster Harvesting, and Oyster bed reclamation projects!

Activities:

Menu:  Oyster, Oysters, and More Oysters!  Hot dogs, Chili, and Beverages.  Bring your own dessert to share!

Smores:  Marshmallows, Chocolate, and Grahams provided, toast your own marshmallow around the campfire.

Nature Scavenger Hunt:  Children's Activity

Bean Bag Toss/Cornhole
