Praying With the Beatles
Where: 205 (Second floor of the Education Bldg.)
When: Thursdays 10:00 AM
Facilitator: Dr. Patrick Perryman
Description: Come together to explore prayer in a fresh and meaningful way through the music of the Beatles. Whether you saw the Beatles at Shea Stadium or on the Ed Sullivan show—or you first heard them on the radio, the chances are you know many of their melodies and lyrics by heart. In this six-week course, we’ll listen to some well-known songs and discover how they can help us pray with scripture, tradition, and imagination. Each week, a song will open the door to a biblical example of prayer and a practice you can use in daily life.
Don’t carry the world on your shoulders, after all it may just be that all your life you were only waiting for this moment to arise. There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be on Thursday mornings starting in September. And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make or at the very least—ohb lah dee, ohb lah dah, la la life goes on.
No singing required, but some may happen!

Adult Bible Study
Where: 205 (Second floor of the Education Bldg.)
Start Date: September 9, 2024—November 4, 2024
When: Mondays from 6:00 PM –7:30PM
Facilitator: Rob Cooper & Bert Owen (Deacon)
Description: After Jesus delivers the most impactful sermon in history, the disciples assume life will improve now that they’re following the Messiah. Judas has joined the group. Simon and Eden are reunited and everyone is ready to live out His teachings. But problems emerge. Pressure from the Romans and the religious leaders increases and with thousands of pilgrims pursuing Jesus, the disciples can’t decide if they should hide or fight. And Jesus doesn’t immediately provide solutions.
It all reaches a stunning climax when Jesus and the disciples are surrounded by over 5,000 people in a dangerous region, and with tensions high, they run out of food. Until a little boy with five loaves and two fishes shows up. The Way of the Chosen parallels season 3 of the groundbreaking television series about the life of Jesus. The study text provides thought provoking commentary and questions matched to each episode.
